Hello 2013!

I'm very excited to move forward this year and actually reach some new goals and challenge myself a bit this new year. I've spent the past few years pretty much sitting on ideas; held down by negative thoughts I personally conjured up or feeling that what ever idea it was wasn't "good enough." In fact, mostly, that is the story of my life. I'm getting older and growing more and more tired of regretting things. So what if my ideas don't pan out to be amazing? And what if they do? I'm not too sure why I'm so hard on myself, I have been for as long as I can remember. We'll no time to dwell on that now because I'm going to work really hard this year to be good to myself, not put myself down, and not care if I fail a little (or even a lot) because out of failure sometimes grows great success. Heck, I may even just impress myself once or twice.

Happy New Year!

Past, Chicago, Future

I never realized how important the sun was to me, until I lived in a place where it was constantly bullied over by a big grey blanket of clouds. Yet another thing that I've taken for granted. I've got to be more appreciative these days. I'm so tired of looking back and feeling that pinch in my heart, where I remember when I had it good. "The good ol' days" I say, but what's to say that these aren't? Will I always continue the cycle of living for the future, while wasting the present on missing past memories? While I do know that thinking about that little thought could keep me wrapped up in a hypothetical-life-phenomenon-brain-freeze, I do know that I would like more sun. A lot more in fact.

"And it all comes back to that big disappointment, doesn't it?"

The other day I had a craving for a lemon chill. Not sorbet, not italian ice- a lemon chill. We tried finding one, with no such luck. It would have been nice to have you around to help me. It's hard to explain to someone, but you know exactly what I'm talking about.
